Eric Isaac @ 4:16 pm:

Hi Valerie

How are You? My name's Eric and I just want to say that I have all the greatest love and respect in what you do not only in your career but in your life as well.
I just been in your blog and you have indeed come a long way from growing girl as a girl with big dreams to become the great champion that you are now in fitness/figure with a great track record to now being one of the members of the new school American Gladlators
as the Strong, Sexy, powerful and beautiful siren!
You are indeed a great role model and hero to people like myself who had beaten the odds and become champions in our lives and You are indeed right that we must learn to enjoy life to the fullest and love the way we are. We need more people like you in this world today and know that muscles are indeed beautiful in both men and women. I overcome having brain damage since birth to graduate from school on time to become a success story in life but wouldn't be here today without the love and support of my family behind me.
So Valerie I hope that you have read this letter and know where i'm coming from being the fact that you are doing a great job so far and won me over as a brand new fan and friend that has now upmost respect for you. Have a great 2008 and feel free to write me back anytime and god bless you and your family!

I Love you siren and all my American Gladiator muscle goddesses!

Hi Val,
What an inspiring person you are. I am sooo dissappointed that you will not be competing in The Arnold this year. What made you make the decision to pass on the competition?
Will you be at any particular booth at the expo? Would love to meet you!
Wishing you all the luck in the world. Rhino ON!

Valerie,

I just wanted to let you know that your past success served to encourage numerous fitness athletes for many years, and it is my hope that your new found success with the American Gladiators reaches a younger female demographic, because youths today are in need of a role model with your characteristics. I have always been a fan of American Gladiators. I enjoy the show for its entertainment value, but I hope the show succeeds primarily to demonstrate that physical prowess can be accompanied by beauty, intelligence, and self-confidence, which are all characteristics I believe you possess.

Keep up the hard work, stay safe, and have fun out there; never forget that you are in a position to inspire millions of viewers, and I am impressed with the way you demonstrate your abilities.

FOE REAL (Family Over Everything) @ 8:12 am:

Valerie Waugaman: A TRUE American Heroine

Green Goddess is here so junk food eaters don't get to comfortable.
Cause Green Goddess will kick your butt and make you eat all your fruits and vegetables.
So put down those chips and sugary snacks and pick up some kind of vegetable like spinach
And don't forget your fruits, cause she'll stay right there until you finish
So good-bye to junkfood, and get ready for a fit mission revolution
Cause Green Goddess way of living is the only Real Healthy Solution
Now Siren is the Gladiator, someone you don't want to go up against
Cause not only does she possesses great beauty but also great strength
So you better bring your A-Game when you're up against Siren
Cause if you don't, bets to believe she will send you home crying
Now a super heroine identity should never be revealed
But her name is Valerie Waugaman and unlike other super heroines she's actually REAL
A true inspiration to kids and also adults And saying that she just "okay" to me is an insult She's the epitome of greatness, a true definition of humble
So Valerie keep up the great work, stay focus and NEVER let your dreams crumble
I respect you a lot because you're doing it without any help from steroids or drugs
And for that, I wish you a lot of success and a lot of love

April VanHoose @ 5:28 pm:

Valerie,
I just listened to your interview on Bodysport and you are so inspiring! I truly believe in writing your goals down and affirmations like you said. I have a friend named Allison who is a figure competitior serving in the military in Iraq and she emails me about making affirmations for myself. She is the most positive person I have ever came across and I have recently made some for myself and I have stayed so positive. I have also noticed that you and alot of Figure competitiors are very spiritual which is so great to see your faith come out in interviews. You are a wonderful role model for not only me but my three little girls 12,8,& 4. I met you at the Arnold and you were so nice and talk with me, my husband and daughter who is 4. You took time to sign something for my daughter,Alex and take pictures which meant alot. Keep inspiring others and stay positive!!!! Your fitness friend April

Kim Horning @ 12:35 am:

Hi Valerie,

I had the good fortune to meet & chat with you at the Arnold. You are as lovely in person as you appear on stage. Selfishly, I'm sad you're retiring from competition because honestly, I will never forget watching you at the 2007 Arnold classic prelims. You combined your impeccable physical physique with such grace and style of movement that my friends & I could not take our eyes off of you! I did my first figure competition last fall and I watched the arnold prelim DVD over and over, hoping I could learn to "channel" your confidence & grace!

Anyhow, the best impression I got of you at the Arnold was your enthusiasm as a role model for young girls. You were kind enough to autograph "Siren" photos for my 6 & 8-year-old daughters. My whole family loves American Gladiators and they were absolutely thrilled to get an autograph from one of their heroes!!

I took a picture of my little girls with their autographed pics - I would love to send you a copy - is there an address I can mail them to?

Again, best of luck to you. Thank you for inspiring women (and little girls!) of all ages. Please keep us posted on you children's book…

Thanks,
Kim Horning

Figure competition and a dream…

Hi Val,   I have followed your hard work online through the Body Building website and Oxygen Mag and I wanted to tell you that you are 100% inspiration and spirituality!!!   At the age of 15; I started training hard since I was playing Volley Ball in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and I fell in love with the gym. I wanted to compete, but back then I was too young and since figure competition did not exist, I stopped dreaming about competing. When I was 17 yrs old, my parents decided to move to NYC and after I got married in 2000, I relocated to Florida where I presently reside with my hubby , sushi (our dog) and my little angel (my 3 yr old daughter).   Like most women, I gained an insane amount of weight while pregnant going from 134 pounds to 198 (I'm 5'9" by the way) and worked out from home until I had lost all weight and regained my pre-pregnancy weight. I always thought of the amazing shape I once had and still wanted to somehow compete; however, I did not know where to start…until one day; I grabbed a copy of Oxygen and read about figure competition, I was blown away by what I saw!!!! I knew that I had found the true 'love of my life"…LOL!!! I went online and searched for a local show to watch and compete. I joined the gym and started training like crazy!! In three months I had dropped from 22.75% body fat to 17.5%; however I still had no guidance on what needed to be done in order to compete. I came across a website and an article about you preparing for the Arnold Classic. I believe I was Googling something about figure competition and your name came up! I read it and absolutely was amazed by what you have done! The article is called "Her Best Figure Ever Valerie Waugama's Preparation for the Arnold Classic". I read it over and over again and I now have this article as my "work out meditation".   I truly want to Thank You!! You have become an inspiration and I look up to you as a reminder to give 110% at the gym.   Stay true, Stay yourself!!! YOU ROCK GIRL!!!!Again, thanks a lot for the words of inspiration and positive vibe.   Luciane P.

INGA YANDELL @ 11:32 pm:

Hey Val, I have been dedicated to my pursuit of the best role models and in my mind you rank at the top. So far I have worked with John Berardi,Bev Francis, Monica Brant, Jenny Lynn & Jenny Hendershott. But the elusive Val the Energy Coach herself has been hard to catch. I am dedicating a page to your friend the Rhino master, and want your interview to compliment the piece. There is a cool site you may-not know of called Rhino Ark and their is a Charge annually to help save the Rhino. I would love to discuss my ideas for you in the magazine and how I can help with the messages you wish to send out. Please email me at karinga22@optusnet.com.au Love your Aussie Cheer Squad Inga

Melanie Bolen @ 3:02 pm:

Hi Val!

You don't know me, but I wanted to send you a big welcome letter to welcome you to Team Beachbody! When I found out that you had become a coach I was very excited, as I'm continually inspired by the ladies on American Gladiators (both old and new).

I was always one of those fat kids who was made fun of, sucked in gym class, etc etc etc. But I admired strong women… as a child I idolized the Gladiator women as well as many fictional characters (She-Ra, among those). I just wanted to be one of those ladies!

Well, I found Beachbody a little over 3 years ago and have shed quite a few pounds with them… and I had the thrill of being a fouding coach for the company. I've since gone on to become a group fitness instructor and I teach 5 classes per week. I'm also studying to earn my personal training certification.

Fitness has become my life… but I'm not done… I still have a ways to go (because I have trouble, still, holding the discipline of diet and exercise 24/7). I did take a huge leap, however, and I signed up to take some beginning aerials classes which start in a couple weeks. Talk about yikes!!!!!

Anyways… I just wanted to write you a letter to say thank you for the inspiration and to welcome you to Team Beachbody. I have a feeling you'll do great things with the company.

Peace.

Hey Valerie, I'm a big American Gladiators fan. I think it is one of the best shows on television as I did when I was a kid. I was wondering if there is any way you could send me an autographed photo. I would appreciate it greatly. Keep up the good work, Kenneth Coker

Do you work with those who want to gain weight also, or just lose weight.

val @ 4:39 pm:

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you so much for your note and my answer to your question is "YES". As my One-On-One phone coaching website states, I will help you find solutions to YOUR unique challenges. And if one of your challenges is to gain weight, then I can also help you with that.

Thank you from bringing this up so that I could clarify it for you AND for other people who may have had the same question.

Have an awesome day and I hope to be hearing from you soon!

DREAM BIG!

Chris Meredith @ 5:15 am:

Hi Valerie!

It was great to meet you in person this past Saturday at the Bellevue Community center for the beach body boot camp event. I have to look back and laugh since I couldn't place where I knew you from when you said hi before we started lol. Afterall, I did audition to be a competitor on AG. I guess it caught me by surprise to when you (The Amazing Siren) walked up and said hi to me filling out paperwork. I was able to discover that you're not just a star on the screen. You're a real person who has a big heart and the ambition to realize your dreams (and you're even more beautiful in person). I like that you say BRING IT! And you do bring it.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and I hope to hear back from you soon so we can keep in touch. Also, I recommend you look me up next time you're in the Seattle area so I can show you the best hikes.

Be well,
